All right, apparently the Black Pteri was on Neopets long before the Haunted Woods plot was announced... at least, it showed up as the challenger in the 180th Better Than You.  (We're currently on the 236th.)  I suppose I was wrong, then.  It sure looks creepy, though.

A lot has been happening for me in the world of Neopia, thanks to a rash of rather... interesting Random Events.  First of all, I was one of the first few fortunate enough to receive a Blue Matu bead as a random event, and after a day of euphoria countered by the next day's price drop after more Lutari Talisman beads were released, I received 240 thousand Neopoints for the little beady.  At about the same time, I was surprised to get an unbuyable Sandstravaganza scratchcard from the Lost Desert, which I sold for an additional 140k.  (When I'd prayed in church for God to bless me not three hours before I received the first event, that wasn't what I meant, but I'm thankful anyway!)

What did I do with my newfound wealth?  Well, first I upgraded my bank account to a sweet Diamond Deposit Gold, and then I bought eight pieces of the Lab Ray.  (I already had the ninth!)  Now, in my nuvakat2 account, I have a gender-swapped Eyrie (ouch), one Wocky with four more hit points, and another Wocky who's yet to be zapped.  (I also have a bank balance of 43,790 Neopoints.  Oh, well.  The price of science.)

I received a rather omnious Battledome challenger today... maybe this has something to do with the Haunted Woods plot coming up?http://www.maj.com/gallery/GaliCat/screenshots/blackpteri.jpg  Whatever it is, it certainly can't be a good sign... even if the Slorg DID give me 100 Neopoints.

Also... my brother will think I'm a traitor, but congratulations to the Haunted Woods team for winning the Altador Cup!  (Also congratulations to the Darigan Citadel teams for making it into the finals.  You guys both rock!)  My brother was disappointed, and thinks that he can claim that the staff rigged the game, because the Haunted Woods is the setting for the next major plot... and because he's a Darigan fan.  Ho boy.  He's been going through some chemical warfare lately (Don't.  Ask.), so I don't think I'll bother him about it.

Today is my birthday, and I got a book on cartooning, a book of cat stories by James Herriot, a Michael's gift card for twenty dollars, a twenty-dollar bill, a watch, a red Piraka from my brother, and a pink Beanie Baby cat from my sister.  The cat's name is Fleur, and she speaks in a French accent (like zis).  Seeing as one of my epic characters also speaks in an accent, this will give me a good bit of practice.  Oui!

I had asked for the twenty dollars to help fund next year's hopeful trip to the Nazarene Youth Conference 2007 (http://www.waterfirewind.com/), but my youth pastor says that he's going to see about raising the funds for me to go... praise the Lord!  Now, I hope I can use the twenty dollars to help someone who needs it.  I've been so blessed, I just want to pass it around.

I just got back from TNT -- Top Nazarene Talent -- and I'm a little tired right now, so no updates today.  I had a very good time there, though!  I also found out that one of my dollar bills was being tracked by wheresgeorge.com, so of course I went over and told the website that it had been to TNT (and, before that, to the High museum, which I also enjoyed once I learned to dodge the nudes!)
